    Description
    Summary:The Safety Specialist, as a key member of the building leadership team, is responsible for continuously monitoring safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe, fully compliant work environment, in line with Arrowhead's Safety First and Zero Harm goals for all employees. The Safety Specialist's general duties include assisting in conducting inspections, accident root cause analysis & documentation, facilitate training, and help define the safety culture of the building. This role will ensure all safety-related training records, accident reports and other documents are completed and filed appropriately. Duties:
    • Enforce OSHA and warehouse rules and regulations.
    • Main point of contact for all regulatory visits, communication, and inspections.
    • Conduct daily safety observations.
    • Engage team members to build and maintain an integrated safety culture.
    • Train team members on safety requirements and other required training.
    • Conduct periodic safety walk-through inspections of the facility.
    • Chair the Safety Committee
    • Create and manage, Job Safety Assessments, Job Instructions, Job Hazard Assessments,
    • Manage Return to Work, Injury follow-up.
    • Responsible for security polices, programs and actions.
    • Complete accident/injury/near miss responses and root cause analysis
    • Manage safety equipment, PPE, and supply stock and needs.
    • Manage site emergency drills and monitor employee response and readiness.
    • Manage Environmental Management System
    • Manage site policies and procedures and ensure they are followed.
    • Maintain required safety and health documents/files.
    • Execute RCRA program.
    • Other duties as required.
    Education and Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent
    • AED/CPR Certified, Instructor preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years warehouse or manufacturing safety experience required.
    • Experience in managing Return to Work, Workers Compensation programs.
    • Knowledge of ISO 45001 & OSHA VPP requirements
    • Knowledge of ISO 14001
    • Knowledge of Federal and State Occupational Safety and other health regulations.
    • Strong probative and analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis, interviews, and reviews.
    • Good understanding of warehouse processes and operations flow.
    • Good understanding of environmental requirements and chemical management.
    • Ability to consistently direct, teach and enforce safety compliance rules and regulations.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with an energetic attitude.
    • Proficient and accurate computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel required.
    • Must be fluent in English and have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • High level of ability to self-manage.
    • Compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA, regulations as they relate to distribution/manufacturing.
    Physical Demands:
    • Walk, Stand, Sit for extended periods.

    • Descend and ascend stairs.
    • Bend, kneel, climb, reach.
    • Tolerance for hot, cold wet environments
    • Travel up to 10%
    Working Conditions:Role will work in a warehouse/manufacturing environment which may or may not be climate controlled. The ability to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other PPE as required is a must. Most of the workday will be indoors, however, at times, role will be required to work outside as needed.
