    Position Summary

    The Photography Assistant Intern in the Creative Services department will closely collaborate with our photographers, gaining hands-on experience in visual content creation, photography, lighting and assisting in set design. The intern will support photographers on a variety of studio and on-location shoots. Helping with setup and breakdown, preparing products for shoots, packing and unpacking photo gear, and cleaning equipment.

    The Intern will help photographers carry out their photography sessions. They handle many logistical considerations, allowing photographers to focus on creative photo-taking.     This 3-6 month paid internship provides a structured learning environment, requiring consistent scheduling. We encourage recent graduates in Photography Assistant/Grip, Photography, Film/Video or photo production, Marketing, Horticulture or related fields, as well as current students seeking to continue their education while gaining practical experience, to apply.

    Job Description

    • Collaborate with the photographer to produce compelling visual content aligned with marketing objectives.
    • Assist in planning and coordinating photo shoots, including scheduling, and prop preparation.
    • Support post-production tasks, such as editing, retouching, and formatting images for various digital and print materials.
    • Assist Photographers in reviewing the media library for reference.
    • Reviewing weekly production plan and eliminating any duplicative shots if needed.
    • Carrying and loading equipment and organizing studio for shoot and picking up materials and supplies.
    • Light set styling and assisting with lighting setup.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Photography Assistant/Grip, Photography, Film/Video or photo production, Horticulture, or another related field; or currently enrolled in a such a program.
    • Basic knowledge of photography principles, including composition, lighting, and photo editing techniques.
    • Knowledge in Adobe Create Suite (particularly Photoshop and Lightroom) or similar photo editing software.
    • Ability to communicate with the team.
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • High attention to detail and organization.
    • Skilled in utilizing Microsoft office applications and the broader suite of Microsoft software products.

    Job Setting & Physical Demands

    This position is primarily an indoor/outdoor studio environment but will also require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens on occasion. Position requires long-term ability for walking, standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, and up to 50 pounds assisted.
