ISI is seeking a Material Handler
The Material Handler is an active participant in all aspects of shipping and receiving responsible for loading, unloading, and moving freight as necessary in a safe and timely manner. This position requires someone with experience operating forklifts, cranes, and other equipment. A successful candidate must have the ability to organize loads and maintain a neat and safe yard.

Success Criteria & Measurement

• Performs all work in a timely manner
• Helps in the staging and prestaging of freight
• Safely uses all equipment, such as tools, overhead cranes, forklifts, etc.
• Works as part of the team helping in other areas as needed, such as Paint, etc.
• Understand and use various industrial parts, tools, and equipment
• Work with limited supervision and in a clean and organized manner

Responsibilities

• Plan the efficient movement of freight in a timely manner based on layout and volume for assigned work
• Accurately load trucks and trailers in a complete, safe, and secure manner
• Sort and process materials as designated
• Communicate and coordinate with Shop Administration for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently
• Light rigging as necessary
• Occasionally making deliveries to customer/job sites
• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Must be able to complete the essential functions of this position: stand, walk, climb, crouch, stoop, kneel and bend
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time on a regular basis
• Operating tools, performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks
• The position is subject to environmental conditions and outside work in all weather conditions is common

Qualifications

• High School degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience, specifically working with complicated mixed loads, such as parts, tools, equipment, and components
• Strong organizational skills required
• Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Computer literacy a plus
• Deadline and detail-oriented
