    SENIOR COST ESTIMATOR

    What we are looking for:

    We seek a Cost Estimator with solid experience, enthusiasm for working in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment, and exceptional communication and analytical skills. This position will be required to prepare task and subtask estimates for large and complex mine remediation construction projects, including all elements. The cost estimator will be required to apply standard estimating techniques, processes, workflows, procedures, and formats, estimating means and methods, and applying estimating best practices. Regularly interacts with representatives from various functional groups, including program management, design/engineering, purchasing, construction, and other personnel. Provides management direction and includes administrative and supervisory responsibilities, involving all cost estimation activities on several small to large-sized construction projects and/or programs or functional areas.

    Responsibilities:

    •The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading Construction estimates and proposals for various industrial capital projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients. This position will assist clients in making fact-based decisions by presenting accurate estimates in a credible and professional manner while minimizing risk to the company.

    •Assists in developing and preparing detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and construction logic for contracts, projects, and elements of programs to support the development of estimate development and delivery.

    •Prepares and summarizes tasked estimates, including labor and material rates, equipment rates, productivity rates, efficiencies, and other resources and impacts that determine the unit cost to be utilized for a specific scope of work.

    •Utilizes training in the prescribed estimating software and estimating tools necessary to perform quantity takeoffs, estimate calculations, bid item detail development, resource reports, and work activity definition.

    •Obtains quotations by developing the necessary information to define the specification and scope of work for subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to retrieve materials, equipment, and services pricing to be utilized in the development of estimates Lead estimating strategy and implementation efforts.

    •Accumulates, classifies, and documents historical cost data from previously performed contract services delivered by the company for use in the development of future company estimates. Classifies and organizes historical data into a format that complies with company standard databases will be learned and utilized.

    •Review and approve project summary schedules for validity.

    •Provide inputs to risk review process on a larger project. For smaller project, lead risk review process.

    •Responsible for compliance with estimating methodology ensuring quality estimates are produced. Prepare cost estimating procedures, process and workflows for the projects.

    •Lead project team review for estimating quantities and scope of project.

    •Responsible for reviewing and approving quotes on bonds and insurance.

    •Lead subcontractor solicitation and pre-qualification reviews.

    •Responsible for reviewing and approving specialty and standard equipment pricing.

    •Present the estimate to internal and external clients.

    •Responsible for the review of final estimate before management review and proposal presentation.

    •Review, prepare or Approve price general conditions, indirect costs and review as provided by project management team.

    •Make final recommendations as to fee, contingency and escalation.

    •Provide man hour quotes for required estimating effort.

    •Develop strategy on contract partnering agreements.

    •Review commercial terms and conditions and address risk issues.

    •Review and validate value engineering items, alternates, and options.

    •Responsible for the accuracy and validity of estimate clarifications and assumptions.

    •Review documents for gaps and overlaps in scope of work.

    •Complies with all policies and standards

    •Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items.
