A Japanese automotive products manufacturer is seeking a Japanese bilingual manager of finance in Kansas City, MO.

The senior manager of finance will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions to ensure proper financial reporting.

Support General Manager to maximize profitability of company and develop short and long term financial planning including OP Ex, Capex, Profit vs CF and develop business financial strategy

Interact with Japan headquarters.

The ideal candidate must have proficient Japanese skills and more than 10 years of business experience, including financial management (financial/managerial accounting and controlling). Working experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise accounting department employees
• Manage financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, review and/or posting journal entries, account balance reconciliation and financial report preparation
• Responsible for accounting policies and procedures along with operations strategies to drive efficiency and operational changes
• Point manager to ensure compliance with internal control policies and documentation and handle all SOX audits
• Interact with other department managers on budget variances and report reasons on monthly basis
• Develop and oversee financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting and financial modeling
• Manage property and Casualty insurance for organization and work with HR on health and welfare benefits
• Gather financial data to analyze profit and lost trends, cost and forecast
• Capex review and cost modeling for projects with expected paybacks

Supervisory

Directly supervisor accounting manger and team and responsible for overall direction.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree or equivalent; or minimum 10 years professional experience and/or training with 5 years in finance or accounting management.
• CPA preferred
• Bilingual English and Japanese both writing and speaking
