    DNA Eye Group is looking for a dedicated Optometric Technician to assist the optometrist and become an essential part of our front office team who provides exceptional patient care. A successful Optometric Technician has strong communication and interpersonal skills, is detail-oriented and meticulous with a keen interest in patient and optical care.     This position will be part of our team at three (3) of our office locations at Westridge , on LAFB , and in Peoria
    • Must be available to be scheduled at any of these locations during the week, but not during the same day
    • Offices open 7-days week - 9:00AM-6:00PM
    • MUST BE AVAILABLE WEEKENDS, in Addition to Weekdays
    Working Environment:
    • On-site, inside of our practices (no remote work available)
    • DNA Eye Group scrub top uniform
    • Sitting, standing, and moving around to different rooms
    • Extended periods on the computer and examination equipment
    • Multi-phone lines
    • Ability to be scheduled at our other practices
    • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    A high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience in the optometry or medical field preferred. Ability to pass the LAFB background check and obtain/maintain security clearance is required for this position.

    Essential Duties:
    • Greet patients by providing professional and friendly customer service
    • Answer phones, schedule appointments, insurance verifications, patient check in and out processes, collect copays, patient intake duties, and referrals
    • Enter patient data, maintain patient demographics, HIPAA compliance confidential data
    • Explain processes to prepare patients for pretesting, perform vision pre-screenings, take legible notes during examinations, transition patients to doctors
    • Provide exceptional patient care
    • Promptly review and reply to voice messages
    • Perform minor maintenance on examination equipment or contact the supervisor
    • Daily office cleaning and sanitation of examination equipment
    • Perform and document no show, NEE, and courtesy reminder calls
    • Communicate effectively with patients, doctors, and fellow teammates
    • Ability to rotate to our other practices
    • Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential for our patient care
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain LAFB security clearance
    • Other duties as assigned
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Experience using optical pretesting equipment
    • Evidence of strong working relationship with doctors
    • Experience in customer service
    • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
    • Ability to self-motivate with the experience to work under pressure
    • Optometric technician certification or Associate's degree, optometric technician
    • Associates or higher degree in the medical, human relations, or related fields
