- Assessment and Monitoring: Perform thorough assessments of neonates' physical, developmental, and psychological status. Monitor vital signs, observe changes in clinical condition, and report any abnormalities promptly.
- Care Planning: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans based on neonates' specific needs. Adjust plans as necessary and ensure they are family-centered.
- Medical Interventions: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians. Monitor responses to interventions and make appropriate adjustments.
- Ventilator and Equipment Management: Operate and manage medical equipment commonly used in the NICU, such as ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Family Support and Education: Educate parents and family members on neonatal care, development, and any necessary interventions. Provide emotional support and involve families in the care process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Participate in rounds and team meetings to discuss patient progress and plans.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including assessments, interventions, and responses. Ensure proper documentation of medications, procedures, and changes in condition.
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) highly desirable.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to remain composed and focused on high-pressure situations.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Previous experience in neonatal nursing or pediatric nursing is preferred.
