Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Bachelor's degree or certification in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience and/or training that includes gas distribution, measurement and regulation, and construction.
3 years supervisory experience.
Knowledge of DOT Part 192.
Knowledge of Natural Fuel Gas Code.
Must be able to qualify in Operator Qualification (OQ) standards.
Valid Driver's License (subject to motor vehicle record review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Improves staff effectiveness by counseling, training, and recommending corrective action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and appraising job tasks and results in a timely manner.
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, time approval, hiring, training, orientation, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Analyzes and resolves work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Assigns staff daily duties and evaluates performance of workers. Follows up on status and projects of jobs.
Prepares special reports in response to internal and external requests in order to provide accessible data for reliable analysis, management review, research purposes and/or reporting requirements.
Supervises a small operations group that performs the function of maintenance, line spotting, cathodic protection, measurement, operation, OQ training, OQ evaluation, and meter repairs for natural gas distribution systems.
Maintains records on all group activity and provide reports as necessary on group work.
Interfaces with the customer as appropriate in the dispatch of assigned responsibilities.
Provides long-range directions regarding department goals and objectives.
Administers Operator Qualifications Program
Prepares risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Keeps leadership and other departments informed of the status of program activities by attending meetings and submitting reports.
Oversees special reports in response to internal and external requests in order to provide accessible data for reliable analysis, management review, research purposes and/or reporting requirements.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research; attendings seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing network; participating in professional societies; and conferring with representatives of contacting agencies and related organizations.
