- Experience with or knowledge of programming languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
- Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing
- Expertise in creating, analyzing, and repairing large-scale distributed systems
- Knowledge of Git or other version-control software
- Manage and monitor all infrastructure and systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance

Systems Engineer AdvisorGDIT is seeking a Systems Engineer Advisor to support Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) program.
NSWCDD utilizes Research & Development and Engineering to develop innovative, affordable, and effective threat-driven integrated training systems, cyber warfare, fleet readiness and sustainment solutions for the Naval Warfighter.
NSWCDD DNA has a requirement to design, develop, produce, deploy and test prototypes in support of its stated mission.The following are representative of the possible programs, sponsors, systems and sub-systems to which the required technical support may be applied:
Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
Communicate with stakeholders to identify what they want to accomplish with a system
Use expert-level administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high degree of availability and appropriate resource management
Developing hardware components such as radar transceivers, RFDUs, antennas, signal processors, and other electronic circuits required for radar and signal processing systems.
Standardize and automate processes using scripting technologyInstall and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and leverage IT staff for routine tasks by clearly documenting design, maintenance, and support procedures
Conducting tests and simulations to verify the performance and functionality of equipment and signal processing systems, including analyzing and interpreting test results.
Test software routinely for bugs, redundancies, and security issuesConduct high-level root-cause analysis of service interruptions and establish preventive measures
Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as system specifications, design documents, test plans, and user manuals.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Required Experience: 8+ years of full time professional experience working as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer in development, design, and prototyping of requirements or Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping of requirements.
