- Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations, and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Hematology and Chemistry Laboratories.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology, Chemistry, and Point of Care Testing; specific familiarization with Core Laboratory Analyzers preferred.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work with nursing, physicians, other employees, and management as needed, to ensure POCT is run efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure that test systems are properly functioning; maintain, troubleshoot, and take corrective action with equipment as needed.
- Maintain and monitor comprehensive quality control and proficiency testing problems.
- Train personnel using ongoing competency.
- Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above description.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Physical or Biological Sciences.
- New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.
- ASCP certification preferred.
- Point of Care Testing experience preferred.
