Nelson University exists to equip students spiritually, academically, professionally, and cross-culturally for their God-given careers and callings.

Position Overview:
The Cashier reports directly to the Director of Student Billing. The Cashier processes all student payments and miscellaneous cash that come to the university. The Cashier will run daily activity reports and balance them with that days deposit.

The cashier will prepare the deposit for the bank, and keep accurate records of all transactions that were done through his/her area.

The Cashier will be responsible for maintaining balanced petty cash accounts, and accurate collection of all cash advances.

Major Responsibilities

Prepare daily bank deposits
Maintain petty cash- current, agency, restricted and plant and reconcile all vouchers
Receive and post student payments and miscellaneous payments to the university
Maintain daily reports and receipts for all transactions
Process credit card transactions and balance batches daily
Create cash boxes times for campus groups
Answer daily emails from students
Assist in registration
Keep accurate paperwork for audit purposes
Coordinate social media and campus communications for Student Billing
Post online payments and contributions
Order supplies each month as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Faith, service and lifestyle that meets University expectations (See IPM sections: "Statement of Core Values," "Doctrinal Statement," "Christian Standards," "Lifestyle Standard.")
Basic understanding of financial calculations and ledgers
Good communication skills and be able to effectively interact with the students, faculty and staff
Must be trustworthy and have the ability to maintain accountability of funds.
Aptitude for software systems including- Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Campus Software and others
Bachelor's degree preferred
