PURPOSE:
The Senior Financial Analyst will assist in maintaining and building financial models, supporting investor relations, and performing ad hoc reporting and analysis.
This highly visible role will provide opportunities to explore commodity markets, the refining and renewable diesel industry, treasury activities, and capital markets.
KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain financial models crucial to companywide forecasting
Assist in yearly budgeting process and aggregation of monthly forecasting data
Analyze business results and trends, perform profitability analysis, and monitor key ratios
Perform variance analyses to explain period over period results to upper management
Understand key business drivers (internal and external) to create digestible narratives around historical business performance and anticipated results
Complete daily and monthly reports with accuracy and timeliness
Liaise with other groups including, but not limited to, Treasury, Commercial, and Accounting to extract and incorporate timely and relevant information about the business
Work cross-functionally with Investor Relations to help steward relationships and organize a targeted outreach plan
Perform ad hoc tasks and analysis as required
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCES
:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business
2+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or relevant work experience
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with analyzing and presenting on financial results
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements
PREFERRED EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCES:
Background or familiarity with building financial models
Experience or understanding of oil and/or agricultural commodity markets
Intimate understanding of the three financial statements and how they interact
Experience with Onestream or Hyperion
Experience with building Power BI dashboards
Experience using a Bloomberg Terminal and its excel add-in
COMPETENCIES:
Desire to learn more about the oil and gas and renewable diesel industry
Ability to effectively work with a wide range of customers
Intellectual curiosity with the ability and aptitude to research and self-teach
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
Must be highly organized and detail oriented
Excellent communications skills used in building customer relationships at all levels of the organization
Proficiency at problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills a must
Fosters positive work relationships and is a solid team player
Supports the strategic and operational direction of the business
