Description
Occupational Medicine Physician AssistantQualifications:
Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant training program.
Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in Georgia and South Carolina.
BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).
CDME Certification and listing on the National Registry preferred but not required.
Experience and education in Occupational Health; familiarity with Workers Compensation injury care and DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle examinations preferred.
Responsibilities:
Utilize clinical judgment to diagnose patients, develop treatment plans, and manage care.
Provide direct patient care or virtual care, including physical examinations and medical history reviews.
Administer medical treatment and services for work-related injuries or illnesses.
Order non-scheduled and scheduled medications within state and federal regulations.
Perform procedures based on licensure, state practice act, and approved privileges.
Explain medical conditions and treatments in easy-to-understand terms.
Conduct DOT physicals according to FMSCA standards and maintain related documentation.
Communicate updates on workers' compensation injury care to the employer or responsible party.
