    Custodian Job Description

    The Custodian will provide custodial services at assigned sites ensuring an attractive sanitary and safe environment for students staff and visitors perform special cleaning operations oversee facility preparation for classroom activities campus events assist site snow removal treat icy surfaces maintain supplies equipment ensure assignments are completed safely properly timely report directly to Head Custodian.

    • Assists with site snow removal treating icy surfaces ensuring access safety
    • Cleans assigned facilities grounds maintaining sanitary safe attractive environment
    • Consults administrative personnel planning prioritizing scheduling custodial activities achieving site maintenance objectives delivering various items distributing materials appropriate parties securing facilities grounds minimizing property damage equipment loss potential liability informs students staff parents visitors providing information direction regarding activities safety issues proper maintenance facilities equipment monitors students staff preventing injuries ensuring site safety oversees facility maintenance assigned custodial personnel performing functions efficiently compliance site requirements established standards participates meetings workshops trainings seminars conveying gathering information required perform job functions performs minor job related maintenance changing vacuum cleaner belts bags etc ensuring proper functioning usability items prepares written materials documenting activities relating administration action replenishes classroom restroom supplies paper towels soap adequate quantities daily use requisitions equipment supplies materials maintaining availability required items completing jobs efficiently responds immediate safety operational concerns taking appropriate action notifying personnel resolution supports other site maintenance staff completes site custodial activities trains assigned personnel developing professional trade safety awareness skills transports variety tools equipment supplies ensures availability materials required job location.
