    The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for helping design and develop our market leading slurry pumps.

    They will be a vital part of the growth of the Weir Minerals product line, working on the mechanical design, structural integrity, and technology support while also tasked with developing new methods to improve cost, performance, and overall product wear life.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Focus Area:
    Develop products and enhancements to help with the execution of engineering strategies, plans, and programs consistent with departmental goals

    Focus Area:
    Lead design, costing, prototyping, testing, validation and verification activities, ensuring adequate Engineering governance

    Focus Area:
    Assist in the evaluation and documentation of risks and safety issues pertinent to the full product lifecycle - including manufacture, assembly, handling, transport, commissioning, operation, maintenance, disassembly, decommissioning and disposal of slurry pumps

    Focus Area:
    Collaborate with other engineers and designers to prepare conceptual sketches, 3D models and assemblies, detailed drawings and design data/information

    Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

    Engineering Degree, Mechanical emphasis7-10 years of relative experienceCAD and GPDM experienceExperience working in a production/manufacturing environment and/or with slurry pumps is preferredFounded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
