Job Description and Duties
Patton State Hospital, Human Resources is accepting applications for at least one (1) Program Director position. Assignments are in multiple residential treatment programs. Interested applicants must possess strong leadership and analytical skills, communicate effectively, and work independently in identifying the need for developing proposed changes in department practices and procedures.
Under the oversight of the Clinical Administrator, the appointee will evaluate department objectives and results, establish operational policies and procedures to meet department standards of care, formulate and determine department priorities, manage and analyze staff requirements and ratios, and work with other hospital administrative personnel to centralize treatment services. In collaboration with Service Chiefs and Program Directors, he/she will implement department objectives, recruit, select and assign personnel, and implement quality assurance projects that contribute to meeting program goals, and ensure the security and safety of forensic clients, patients, staff, and visitors.
Appointees will promote Wellness and Recovery Performance Improvement, maintain standards throughout the program to meet regulatory requirements, Joint Commission, and licensing. Foster a non-violent environment and safe work practices. The appointees are responsible for the overall management, supervision, and assignments of all staff allocated to the program. He/she must possess the ability to plan, direct, and coordinate a team that provides care and treatment that capitalizes on patient progress and discharge plans.

Working Conditions
Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
