The Lead Cook is a leadership position within the Food & Nutrition department that provides assistance to the Sous and Executive Chefs as well as overall guidance and mentoring to line and prep cooks.
This is a great leadership opportunity for career-minded individuals looking to expand their responsibilities in a position that offers excellent work/life balance with no early mornings or late nights.
All the fun of a restaurant environment without the stress or grind Experience in ala carte, banquets, and multi-outlet is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Preparing food including cleaning and cutting ingredients, cooking main, side and appetizer dishes.
Prepares mis en place in advance of meal service.
Ensures that food orders are prepared and plated based on Executive Chef's standards.
Works as a team and effectively communicating with managers, chefs and fellow members of staff in order to address any needs requested by guests.
Serves as a positive role model to other by maintaining composure and effective communication.Maintains solid knowledge of all food products, sanitation standards, and all policies/procedures and is able to apply culinary techniques
Completes daily reporting and assists Sous Chef with administrative responsibilities such as ordering, organizing, assigning cleaning projects, etc.
Experience Level:
Prior line cook experience required in a fine or casual fine dining establishment – 2 years preferred.
