- Curriculum Development and Implementation: Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning and aligns with state standards and guidelines. Regularly assess and evaluate the curriculum to ensure its effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Hire, train, and supervise preschool teachers and assistants, and provide ongoing professional development opportunities to support their growth and effectiveness in the classroom.
- Parent Communication and Engagement: Establish and maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress and involving them in the educational process through parent-teacher conferences, newsletters, and special events.
- Classroom Management: Ensure a safe, clean, and organized learning environment that promotes the well-being of students and staff. Implement and enforce classroom rules and routines and address behavioral issues in a positive and supportive manner.
- Program Assessment and Improvement: Regularly assess the overall effectiveness of the preschool program, seeking feedback from parents, staff, and students to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in early childhood education, attending relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about new developments in the field.
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in a preschool setting, with a proven track record of successful student outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of child development theories, best practices in early childhood education, and age-appropriate curriculum development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community members.
- Experience in staff supervision and training, as well as experience in program assessment and improvement.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment that supports the needs of all children.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
