    Exempt Date: 12/28/2022 Position Summary Performs laboratory tests to support research efforts in identifying potential drug or biologic candidates for efficacy against disease through a variety of scientific techniques, instrumentation, and disciplines by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities Works collectively with the clinical team by providing services as directed by the physician and/or nurse manager.

    Generate Data from a Variety of Laboratory techniques and analytic instrumentation such as Hematology, Chemistry.

    Participate in experiment designed to evaluate the effectiveness of new methodology by running batch samples against library of known substances, Controls, Calibrators .Adheres to industry and government standards regarding technique and safe handling of biohazards materials/Specimens.

    Calibrates analytical instrumentation.
    Tabulates and Graphs data, and prepare technical reports for Lead Lab Tech / Lab Manager.
    Access data acquisition software and enters data in multiple or off-site such as Proficiency testing institute.
    Maintains laboratory notebooks, archives, and sample or specimen repository.

    Perform other duties as assigned Safety/Infection Control Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to regulations and policies and procedures pertaining to safety, emergency preparedness, infection control, OSHA, fire safety and hazardous materials Performance Improvement Participate in performance improvement activities as necessary Customer Service Maintain confidentiality of patient related issues and adhering to all HIPAA rules and regulations.

    Demonstrate effective interpersonal skillsTreat all patients, visitors, and staff members fairly and with respectUtilize effective communication methods and skillsExplain all procedures, treatments, and care while remaining aware of language barriersAble to perform care in non-judgmental manner and recognize discrepancies between patient and personal beliefs Company Policy Ensure personal appearance is business casual and professional at all timesResponsible for wearing identification badge at all times which must be visible and above the waistlineAttend all required meetings and in-service educationRemain flexible in staffing patterns and resolution of staffing conflicts; participates in temporary assignmentsCompliance with attendance standardsDemonstrate flexibility when changes in assignments are necessaryQualifications EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training preferred.

    Maintains professional growth and development though seminars, workshops, and professional affiliation to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertiseSeeks feedback to enhance own performanceCompletes annual educational requirementsLANGUAGE/MATH/REASONING ABILITYAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

    Ability to write simple correspondence.

    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

    Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distanceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
