    Overview:

    Lead Data EngineerSummary of Position:

    The primary mission of the Lead Data Engineer role is to help our business evolve into an AI-first, insights-driven organization.

    This position sits in our Enterprise Data and Analytics team, which aims to drive improved business outcomes using insights gleaned from data and analytics, infusing them into Lennars corporate fabric.

    The Lead Data Engineer will provide technical leadership to our corporate analytics engineering team.

    This is done by helping design and implement our next generation data and analytics platforms and products using DataOps and engineering best practices.

    The Lead Data Engineer may also be implementing engineering solutions along with the team. In addition, this person focuses on empowering and enabling our business users through self-service and automation.

    The Lead Data Engineer is a key role in operationalizing Lennars enterprise data fabric and will have coaching and mentoring responsibilities for data engineering talent in the team.

    Responsibilities:
    Design, build, and operationalize data engineering solutions for Lennars data and analytics platforms and products.
    Implement CI/CD and other automation techniques to streamline data ingestion and delivery processes.
    Develop self-service data and analytics capabilities to empower business users to navigate our data ecosystem.
    Instrument platforms with robust metrics and monitoring.
    Improve data flow architecture, emphasizing data quality, maintainability, and extensibility.
    Support process improvement on the team to enable rapid development of data products.

    Implement software engineering and DataOps standards and best practices for data analytics team, including code modularization, versioning, testing, automation of CI/CD workflows, code reviews.

    Work with data/information architects to drive enterprise taxonomy and ontology development to connect disparate data across enterprise and enable 360 insights.

    Gain an understanding of core business processes and align data development with business strategy.

    Wrangle and integrate data from disparate systems to allow data analysts and data scientists leverage to end-to-end data and information.

    Expertise (At least 5+, prefers 7+ years) in:

    AWS platform: EC2, ECS, EKS, Glue, etc.

    Snowflake Data CloudAccount AdministrationVirtual warehouse strategiesSnowflake feature implementation:
    Data Sharing, Time Travel, and Zero-copy cloningRole-based Access Control strategiesDbtManaging dbt cloud environmentManaging multi-repository dbt projectsCreating and managing dbt modelsCreating and leveraging dbt macrosVersion control & branching strategies (Github a plus)

    Proficient in languages:
    SQL, PythonData governance, security, and compliance conceptsData IngestionIncremental and CDC ingestion methodsREST APIsFamiliarity (At least 1+, prefers 2+ years of experience) with:Orchestration & Orchestration tools (Prefect a plus)

    Demonstrated some experience in all aspects of development including, but not limited to, gathering requirements, development of technical components related to process scope and supporting testing and post implementation support.

    Experience working with business users to understand how to optimally deliver insights within their operational workflows & decision-making processes.
    Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies.
    Ability and willingness to learn about the business, its strategy, objectives, and core business processes.


    Physical Requirements:
    This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires he position to have the ability to operate computer equipment. Finger dexterity is necessary.


    Additional Requirements:
    Travel up to 10% of the time to Divisions within the Lennar family.
