    We are currently seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to be part of our team
    S.E. Smith and Sons are hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician to go out in the field to do repairs on a wide variety of diesel trucks, trailers, and forklifts.

    You will need to be qualified to work on a wide variety of vehicles on your own, as well as with others at times. We do expect you to be qualified in customer service, organization, clean paperwork, and motivation to get jobs done in a timely matter.

    As one of our Mobile Diesel Mechanics, you will have a vital part in the field with diagnosing issues, making necessary adjustments, completing repairs on removing & replacing all light, medium, and heavy-duty parts- and much much more.

    Responsibilities:
    • Diagnose and repair light, medium, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
    • BIT & DOT Inspections.
    • Remove and replace parts as needed.
    • Various trailer repairs and fabrication.
    • Welding (if qualified).
    • Brakes and adjustment.
    • Further duties may be assigned.

    Qualifications:
    • Sensitive to deadlines and detail-oriented in your work.
    • Strong communication skills with co-workers and the management team.
    • Previous experience in diesel repair.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic and repairing trucks.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Current valid CA driver's license.
    • ASE Certified (not required but a beneficial qualification).
    • CLASS A license (not required but a beneficial qualification).

    About S.E. Smith and Sons:

    Samuel Eugene Smith and his two sons, Craig and Lance, always had a passion for fixing cars and trucks, and understanding the operations of how vehicles work. The trio started by fixing neighbors' and friends' vehicles out of their own home, and quickly grew by word of mouth—in the area, the Smith family mechanics became known for the quality of their work, great personalities, and loyalty to their customers. They became busy enough that it became necessary to open a real shop. In early 1962, Sam found the perfect facility in Glendora, CA, just off Arrow Highway, and S.E. Smith & Sons officially opened for business. One day, after the shop had been up and running for a while, Craig and Lance had a vision—a vision of working on diesels, tractors, and trailers. After many years of planning and deliberating how truck repair would fit into their business and their lifestyles, they began to market for commercial and fleet vehicles. When they received their first big fleet account, there was no turning back. From that day forward, S.E. Smith & Sons became very well known for its top-notch truck repair work and trustworthy team. Sadly, Lance passed away in 1996, and Sam in 2008, but Craig continues to grow the family business. At the much larger shop in Azusa, Craig has big plans to carry forward the reputation and history of S.E. Smith & Sons.
