    General Job Description / Summary As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency, security, and effectiveness of our IT infrastructure.

    Collaborating closely with the IT Manager, you will serve as a key pillar in the maintenance, optimization, and security of our systems and network infrastructure.

    This role demands proactive monitoring of system performance, strategic implementation of service enhancement solutions, and rigorous enforcement of security protocols to protect data and IT assets.


    Salary:
    $85,000-$105,000 Key Duties and Responsibilities System and

    Network Infrastructure Management:
    Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure components, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability


    Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    Regularly monitor system performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance speed, efficiency, and reliability


    Security Protocol Enforcement:
    Develop and enforce comprehensive security protocols, conduct regular security audits, and respond swiftly to any security incidents to safeguard organizational data and IT assets


    Automation and Scripting:
    Utilize automation tools and scripting to streamline IT operations, reduce manual intervention, and enhance system consistency and reliability. Develop and maintain scripts for system administration, including automation of routine tasks, deployment, and monitoring.


    Service Improvement Initiatives:
    Lead projects aimed at improving service delivery, including the deployment of new technologies and the optimization of existing systems


    Collaboration and Leadership:

    Work in close partnership with the IT Manager and other stakeholders to align IT infrastructure management with organizational goals and strategies.


    Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning:
    Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to ensure minimal disruption in the event of unforeseen incidents


    Extensive Knowledge:

    Operating Systems & Servers:
    Windows Server environments (configuration, administration, troubleshooting), and desktop OS. Expert in server hardware (Dell EMC, HPE), including blade, rack, and tower servers.


    Virtualization & Cloud Computing:
    VMware (ESXi, vSphere, vCenter), Azure services (VMs, networking, storage), and cloud-based VDI (Horizon). Deep understanding of SAN and NAS technologies, including iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS/SMB protocols.


    Collaboration Tools:
    Microsoft 365 suite (Office, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams) deployment and management


    Networking & Security:
    DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP/TFTP, SFTP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS; expertise in Aruba Networks and Palo Alto Networks hardware/software, network security (firewalls, VPNs, IPSec, SSL), and wireless LAN management


    Storage Solutions:
    Expertise in enterprise storage (Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE), including SAN, NAS, all-flash arrays, and hybrid storage. Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies (Veeam, replication, snapshots).


    Moderate Knowledge:

    Device Management:
    MDM solutions (Intune, JAMF Pro) for iOS and Android, VDI solutions (Horizon), and workstation/desktop hardware configurations


    Scripting & Automation:
    PowerShell for Windows and Azure, basic Python scripting and Ansible for network automation


    Network Management:
    Use of troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump), network monitoring (SNMP-based tools), SD-WAN, MPLS technologies, and basics of cloud networking


    Basic Knowledge:
    Unix/Linux &


    DBMS:
    Command-line usage, administration of Unix/Linux, and basic MS SQL, MySQL database tasks


    Additional Technologies:
    Introductory familiarity with cloud storage services, object storage concepts, and data archiving technologies.

    Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is appreciated, we place a greater value on practical experience and hands-on skills in relevant technologies and environments.


    Work Experience:
    A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in the design, deployment, and management of complex IT infrastructures.

    This should include a comprehensive understanding and practical application of system and network administration, as well as proven capabilities in automation, scripting, and deploying security measures.

    Demonstrated experience in optimizing and securing computer systems and networks is essential, reflecting a broad and deep skill set in modern IT infrastructure management.
