    Sentara Norfolk General Hospital has an exciting opportunity available for a Healthcare Service Specialist to join their team.

    (Potential Sign-On Bonus up to $1,500 for eligible candidates)

    Work Schedule: Full-time position with 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    As a Healthcare Service Specialist, your role plays a crucial part in enhancing the patient experience during their hospital stay.
    • Food Handlers Card Required
    • Previous Experience in Patient Services Preferred
    • Customer Service Experience is a plus
    This position involves assisting patients with meal selections, collaborating with nurses on dietary requirements, and offers ample opportunities for career advancement. You'll be part of a supportive team dedicated to delivering top-notch patient care.

    Responsibilities include overseeing patient meal services, addressing food-related concerns, collaborating with the nutrition department, and ensuring patient satisfaction. You'll also assist in monitoring patients on special diets and maintaining accurate records of food intake. Compliance with health department regulations and a focus on patient well-being are key aspects of this role.

    Job Summary:

    Responsible for managing patient meal services, communicating with the nutrition department, and collaborating with nursing staff to address patient dietary requirements. Maintain accurate records of patient food intake and respond promptly to changes to optimize service efficiency and dietary compliance. Focus on satisfying patient dietary needs and ensuring high levels of patient care.

    Consideration will be given to relevant experience in place of formal education. Holders of the Certified Food Service Handler's Card will have an advantage.

    Qualifications:

    High School Diploma or equivalent is required

    Food Handlers Card Certification

    Customer Service Skills

    Strong Communication Skills, Customer Service Orientation
