    POSITION SUMMARY:

    • Plans, implements, and evaluates recreational and activity groups to help improve self-esteem, social skills, and increase leisure skills.
    • Position covers all levels of care. Completes RT assessment for each patient upon admission.
    • Responsible for planning all RT scheduled groups, including preparing supplies/ equipment. Responsible for planning special events, programs and guest presentations.
    • Responsible for weekly documentation in patient's files and monthly RT calendar of events. Assists director in ensuring coverage for all events by RT staff. Responsible for organizing holiday celebrations.
    • Responsible for training and providing ongoing supervision to all recreational specialists.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCES REQUIRED:

    Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in the recreational therapy, art therapy or music therapy area. Degree in a related field can be considered. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from the National Accrediting Association, Art Therapy Certification or Music Therapy Certification is required. Previous experience with children and adolescents required
