Creative Financial Staffing is partnered with a non-profit school based in Brookline, MA. The group is seeking an Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will be the CFO's right hand and will own all of the day-to-day accounting.

The CFO has been focused on upgrading and automating the systems, processes, and procedures; and as the right hand to the CFO you will be a key player in building out the infrastructure of the accounting function.
There is an advancement opportunity. The CFO is looking for someone she can promote as there is no Accounting Manager/Controller between her and the Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities of the Senior Acccountant:

Accurately record transactions by preparing and posting journal entries.
Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and donation reconciliations.
Analyze transactions for proper coding and classification.
Create and maintain balance sheet schedules to support financial reporting.
Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures.
Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of financial activities.
Manage payroll closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals.

Background Expected of the Senior Accountant:

5+ years' experience as a Staff/Senior Accountant
Experience owning the close process
Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent
Strong Excel skills is a requirement
QuickBooks familiarity is a plus
