Trades Planner - RiggingGeneral Dynamics NASSCO is a proud member of the General Dynamics Marine Systems business unit.
In addition to ship construction, our capabilities include advanced ship repair, conversion, and maintenance for both commercial and national defense assets.
We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Rigging department.Shift :

The shop planner is responsible for d eveloping (prepare/write/revise), issuing and distributing assigned planning documents, procedures and work items in accordance with all applicable instructions, directives and procedures.
Typically has a BA/BS in a related field, or AA/AS plus two (2) years directly related experience, or six (6) years directly related experience.
Must be familiar with working in a naval ship yard environment and be able to work aboard marine vessels, climb ladders, work in tanks and confined spaces, and wear personal protective equipment.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelMust possess expert ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines or groups and resolve planning conflicts.
Must have a working knowledge of NMD Planning and Execution Modules.
Visual Requirements
Conduct Ship-Checks as required
Integrate, review and validate planning process with primary parties and government affiliations on a weekly basis to ensure compliance.
Prepare advanced planning reports for dissemination to government for processing
Conduct meeting to inform key personnel of planning updates
Work closely with Estimators to ensure all information is represented appropriately to produce an integrated planning schedule.

Must be able to access all work locations, including government and private ship yards and/or vessels. Must have reliable record of attendance and punctuality and be available for overtime as required. Must be able to physically transit all areas of the facility.
Must be familiar with working in a naval ship work environment and be able to go aboard marine vessels and the drydock, climb ladders, work in tanks and confined spaces, and wear personal protective equipment.
