The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Lamar University is seeking a full-time open rank tenure-track faculty position in Audiology to begin Summer 2024.
Individuals with a productive research agenda and current or strong potential to obtain extramural funding are heavily encouraged to apply.
Research facilities are well-equipped and ready for most project types.Applicants must:
have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service; be flexible and adaptable; and have a cooperative work style.
Expertise and/or research in any of the following areas is considered an asset:Telehealth or eHealth, Cochlear Implants, Pediatrics, Tinnitus/Hyperacusis, or Auditory Processing Disorders. Other specialty areas will be considered. Summer employment opportunities and start-up research funding may be available.
Note regarding Teaching Workload:
While full-time is considered a workload equivalent of a 4 course Fall, 4 course Spring (4:4), considerations will be made for release for scholarly and creative activities with a maximum release set at half per semester (2:2).

Department Summary:
The Department offers two graduate degree programs that are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA): (1) the Doctor of Audiology (Au.
The Department also offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program leading to state licensure as an SLP-A, and an online graduate certificate program in Vocology.

or equivalent from an accredited institution approved by the licensing board of the State of Texas, Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Active holder or eligible to obtain Texas state licensure in Audiology at the time of hire.
