Under the general direction of the Senior Transportation Engineer for Traffic Engineering & Operations, the incumbent participates in fulfilling the duties of Electrical Design and Project Engineer within this office. In this capacity, the incumbent prepares/reviews Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for project development and encroachment permit projects that include electrical facilities. Incumbent also provides technical support during construction of these facilities. In addition, prepares or assist in the preparation of project documents including, expenditure authorizations, survey requests, project reports, cooperative agreements or other reports necessary for projects.

Working Conditions
This position is located in Redding, Shasta County.
This position requires visual and color acuity adequate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, willingness to work at odd hours, be available for day or night calls, stay abreast of current technological changes in the fields of electricity and electronics, work up to 550 feet above pavement or water, work in the midst of traffic, and have the ability to withstand working under adverse (, cold, wet, windy) weather conditions.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
