Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Critical Care Float RN with at least one year of experience and BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications to provide care across multiple hospital units.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting as a Critical Care Float RN
• Float primarily to ICU but may also float to MS, MS Tele, PCU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU units as needed
• Adult to geriatric patient population with a wide range of diagnoses
• ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3, PCU ratio is 1:4-5, and MS/MS Tele ratio is 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00) with every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience is required; Pyxis and SBAR also used
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to other hospital units is required
• Provide direct patient care across various critical care and medical/surgical units
• Compliance with all facility onboarding and orientation is required for timely start
• Scrub color is navy blue
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO allowed per contract; no RTO in the first week of assignment
• RTO not approved during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage is required based on assignment overlap; you may be required to work up to two major holidays
• Return travelers must be away from Piedmont facilities for at least one full year
• If unable to return to a Piedmont facility, a successful assignment at another facility is required before new placement
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift and unit
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience in relevant hospital settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must provide two supervisory references who are managers or above
