    We are GDIT. General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Air Force customer in Hampton, VA.     The GDIT Air Defense Communications Service program and its employees have the responsibility of maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoD/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

    How a Senior Network Engineer Will Make an Impact:

    Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems

    Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks

    Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability

    Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed

    Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks

    Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks

    Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

    Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

    May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals


    What You'll Need to Succeed:
    Active Secret clearance (TS eligible)

    Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive and M or otherwise stated in individual task order.

    Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) (Highly Preferred)

    Enterprise Level Network Experience

    Onsite in Hampton, Virginia

    BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience

    The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $133,973. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.

    Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
