- Candidates hired into a sign-on bonus-eligible role will be asked to make a two-year work commitment to UPMC McKeesport.
- Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education. Title and salary will be determined based on education and nursing experience.

- Temporary Practice Permit (TPP). Graduate Nurses must complete the licensure examination within 4 months of hire or within one year of graduation- whichever comes first. UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date, or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.
- UPMC-approved national certification is preferred.
- NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire.
- CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Act 33, 34, and 73 with renewal.
