POSITION SUMMARY: The Company provides industrial waste services to its customers. The Industrial HazMat Driver operates a tractor-trailer and other truck equipment to haul industrial waste to a variety of final disposal or recycle facilities. The Industrial HazMat Driver provides efficient response times and a high level of service to the Company's customers.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transports hazardous waste, hazardous materials, industrial fluids, and non-hazardous wastes in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
• Operates a variety of vehicles including, but not limited to vans, straight trucks, tankers, vacuum tankers and roll offs.
• Performs safety inspections and maintains a DOT driver's log and records, as required by DOT.
• Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections of all equipment operated as required or instructed.
• Maintains satisfactory customer service by maintaining radio and/or telephone communication with dispatch, supervisor, or manager to receive instructions on pickups and deliveries.
• Completes work tickets and maintains daily inventory of tools, fittings and other equipment associated with the transport vehicle.
• Reports all safety issues, incidents and concerns to Company management and notifies of current and/or anticipated repair needs.
• Responsible for making sure all jobs are operated in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment when needed or required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
• May require up to 30% OTR.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Knowledge of equipment associated with the trucking of industrial and/or hazardous waste

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience driving commercial trucks.
• Compensation: Up to $26 per hour
• Schedule: Primarily local routes with one overnight trip per week
• License Requirements: Must possess a valid Class B CDL with HazMat (H) endorsement; candidates with no license restrictions strongly preferred
• Transmission Requirements: Must be able to confidently operate a manual transmission

SUSTAINABILITY INNOVATION

Republic's recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth.

The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation's first integrated plastics recycling facility. This innovative site processes rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.

We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
