- Collaborates effectively to enhance patient care and foster a supportive team environment.
- Maintains high level of confidentiality pertaining to the patients right to privacy
- Acquires proficiency in the proper handling of equipment and materials, including scopes, light sources, and ancillary devices.
- Prepares pre-procedure and intra-op rooms.
- Assists physicians during procedures by managing necessary equipment for patient care.
- Transport used equipment to the reprocessing room.
- Works independently in the reprocessing room, adhering to OSHA and CDC guidelines, and understanding all Instruction for Use (IFU) documents and chemicals used.
- Clean, disinfect, and calibrate endoscopy instruments and scopes according in conjunction with OSHA and Infection Prevention guidelines
- Maintains records for high level disinfecting process of endoscopic equipment.
- Supports department-wide inventory management of supplies.
- Contributes to room efficiency by assisting with room turnover, setup and cleaning of procedure rooms.
- Recognizes and responds to emergency care needs per policy.
- Assists with admissions/discharges under RN supervision.
- Transports patients as directed.
- Completes documentation promptly and accurately.
- Support and assist physicians, anesthesia providers and registered nurses with procedures
- Collaborate with coworkers to maintain adequate stock and supplies throughout the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
- Eager and willingness to learn and grow in the knowledge of GI Anatomy and Physiology, Disease
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Practice-based learning and improvement, empathy, and clinical judgement
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or ability to obtain upon hire
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs
- Knowledge of OSHA/HIPPA standard
- EMR experience
