    Description


    Job ResponsibilitiesConduct and manage research and development projects focused on design and development of electrical and electronic products and systems.

    Develop and integrate technologies for smart and digital manufacturing, including:
    data acquisition and analysis, controls and automation, and robotics.
    Design and analyze electrical circuits and systems with computer based tools.
    Develop test methods and systems for evaluation of electrical and electronic circuits and systems.
    Interface with customers and support development of proposals.
    Prepare and present/publish research technical results.

    Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related degree areaMinimum of 5 years of work-experience in electrical design and development, or advanced manufacturing and controlsRequirements include demonstrated ability to perform primary responsibilities, and:Demonstrated ability to develop and apply advanced technologies in product development and or manufacturingExperience with circuit design and PCB layout toolsAnalytical ability to solve challenging design/development problemsStrong organizational and project management skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to work with internal and external customers to refine project requirementsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in engineering or business administrationExperience in bringing new products to market or new technologies into manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated interest and experience in entrepreneurial activitiesHands on experience in software development related projectsExperience with tools such as Python or Matlab for engineering analysis and problem solvingDepartment/College DescriptionThe Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) is a leading sustainability research and education organization at Rochester Institute of Technology.
