    Description


    Job Description SummaryReporting directly to the Manager of Central Processing, this position will ensure that all of the day-to-day surgical instrument needs of all South Shore Health off sites run smoothly through thoughtful organization and routine, unexpected, and STAT pickups and deliveries to and from all South Shore Health offsites.

    This position also supports the operational needs of the department to maintain the workflow.


    Salary Range:
    $20.00-$26.92Job DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Oversees the coordination, transportation and delivery of all offsite instrument related needs; including but not limited to South Shore Urology, 2 Pond Park Orthopedic Surgical Center and The Womens Center of South Shore Medical at Performance Drive. Acts as a liaison with offsite managers. CPD manager and shift leads to provide daily communication and real time updates. Develop strong interpersonal relationships with offsite leads and managers. Responsible to be available instantaneously for main campus and offsite emergency needs through phone and/or email. Demonstrates proper planning and foresees any and all needs, and plans for timely delivery and pickups. Will be able to submit and track requisitions for procurement of instruments and supplies needed for the Central Processing Department. Other duties as assigned.
    JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum Education
    • PreferredHigh School Diploma is strongly preferred.

    Minimum Work ExperienceMinimum one year related experience, preferably in Sterile ProcessingRequired Licenses / RegistrationsIf you will be driving a SSH vehicle as part of your job, a valid MA driver's license in good standing is required as well as verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, at time of hire, with annual verification required thereafter.

    Required additional Knowledge and AbilitiesMust have a basic understanding of overall daily operations of the Central Processing Department.
    Must be confident in navigating Workday application.

    Must be able to fulfill all duties in the role of the Sterile Processing Technician during times of high acuity in the department.

    Must possess a high level of customer service dealing with a range of nursing and support staff throughout the Main Campus and all Offsites of South Shore Health.

    Must be mindful, and be able to adapt and evolve to the unexpected changes and be able to prioritize the needs that arise in the surgical areas during the work day.

    Ability to work independently in a highly challenging and fast paced environment.
    Strong practical thinking and problem solving skills.
    Must take initiative and be proactive within the department to streamline daily operations.
    Strong written and verbal communication.
    Solid understanding of the safe packaging and transport of sterile and nonsterile goods from one site to another.

    Must possess excellent computer skills; including but not limited to the ability to navigate, Microsoft Office Suites, Spreadsheets and Communication and Collaboration tools.
