    Our Exciting Opportunity

    *Adjunct faculty compensation for the current year amounts to $885.00 per credit hour.
    South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) is looking for highly motivated and qualified individuals for the role of adjunct or part-time faculty members in Cybersecurity and Network Administration who will:

    Your Responsibilities

    As an adjunct instructor, you will collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to:

    • Design and deliver tailored learning experiences in Cybersecurity and Network Administration aligned with college pathways linked to career objectives.
    • Be available to teach classes during daytime hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.
    • Conduct classes online, in a hybrid format, and/or virtually.
    • Develop authentic assessments to evaluate students' competencies in Cybersecurity and Network Administration, aligning with course, program, and institutional outcomes.
    • Utilize diverse teaching strategies to enhance learning in cognitive, affective, and kinesthetic domains.
    • Leverage various resources, tools, and technologies to enhance accessibility and student success in higher education.
    • Support students both inside and outside the classroom by referring them to relevant support services and resources.
    • Undertake additional duties as assigned.
    • Utilize data and analytics at local, state, and national levels to continuously refine strategies for improving student achievements.

    Available Courses:
    Positions are open for courses in cybersecurity, network administration, and IT computer support offered during regular hours and potentially through a new hybrid/weekend program starting in fall 2021.


    Your Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, OR an Associate's degree in Information Technology AND a minimum of two years of relevant industry experience.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft and Linux servers, Cisco network hardware, virtualization, and up-to-date penetration testing tools.
    • Possess at least two years of recent experience in an IT-related role or teaching IT at a post-secondary level.
    • Show a track record of engagement with individuals from various backgrounds and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning/work environment.
    • Collaborative -- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in diverse teams towards shared objectives by involving, engaging, and valuing team members.
    • Experience in advocating for and working with underrepresented communities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hold industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Cisco CCT, CCNA.
    • Prior experience in teaching or working in networking, network hardware support, and cybersecurity technologies.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with students from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including varying levels of preparedness and physical abilities.
