    Job DescriptionThe California State Association of Counties (CSAC) is proud to be the unified voice for California's 58 Counties.     We are seeking a number-loving and detail-oriented individual who will be responsible for daily accounting tasks primarily focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card transactions. This role is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording expenditures and revenue data to maintain accounting records. This role will also assist the accounting team with financial accounting tasks, and report preparation. Additional tasks may include assisting with payroll, retirement plans, and benefits accounting.

    Compensation and Benefits

    $60,000 -$75,000 annually based on experience. Full-time, non-exempt.

    Schedule

    8:00 – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday

    A partial hybrid work schedule will be considered upon completion of the probationary period. Minimal travel includes the annual statewide conference and staff retreat once a year.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
    • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
    • Expert in QuickBooks Online
    • Possess technical aptitude (proficiency in MS Office applications, Expensify, and Ramp a plus)
    • Experience in Accounts Payable
    • Experience in Accounts Receivable/Collections
    • Proficient in handling credit card transactions
    • Proficient in general accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices
    • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong work ethic
    • Experience working in a non-profit or association setting is a plus

    General Responsibilities
    • Accounts Receivable - including preparation of invoices, customer record maintenance, and collections
    • Accounts Payable - including coding and data entry of expenses, vendor record maintenance, expense report processing, and processing check runs
    • Credit card expense coding and maintenance
    • Document review - check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy and proper codes
    • Post financial information to appropriate GL accounts, review accounts for accuracy, and investigate and resolve discrepancies
    • Operate computers and accounting software to record, store, and analyze information
    • Assist with monthly close procedures, including preparing journal entries, billing out invoices, completing account reconciliations, and preparing supporting schedules
    • Scan and file electronic copies of accounting paperwork to maintain accurate records for the annual audit
    • Assist with year-end audit support with preparation of schedules and documentation
    • Assist accounting team with bi-weekly payroll, benefits paperwork, pension calculations, and pension reporting
    • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned
