    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Senior Accountant performs a variety of professional-level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. This position is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of ledgers and financial systems as well as assisting in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year-end closing. The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by reviewing financial reports prepared by accountants.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
    • Documents financial transactions by entering account information
    • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
    • Manages accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
    • Maintains financial security by following internal controls and promotes ethical environment
    • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
    • Maintains accurate records for all vendor files including payment terms, joint checks, etc
    • Reconciles ERP with Project Management software
    • Reconciles monthly bank statements and is responsible for cash management
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
    • Reviews financial reports completed by accountants and ensures that all deadlines are met within their portfolio
    • Assists with year end reporting including, but not limited to annual filings, audits and tax returns
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
    • CPA certification preferred, but not required
    • Sage/Procore Experience preferred
    • 3-5 years of accounting or construction finance experience
