    We are searching for a highly skilled


    Electrical Compliance Engineer , who will be responsible for ensuring our compliance of Trystar's new products, integrated systems, and custom solutions with all relevant electrical standards and regulations, from initial design compliance to pre-certification tests to final certification.

    This position will be based in

    Burnsville, MN, Houston, TX, or Faribault, MN . This role aligns with the Engineering Function and reports directly to the Discovery & Innovation Director.

    In this role you will get to:

    Contribute to development of advanced electrical power solutions.
    Develop and implement electrical compliance policies and procedures.
    Conduct tests, studies, and regular audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws, electrical standards, and regulations.
    Identify and mitigate potential risks related to electrical compliance.
    Instituting best-practice procedures for compliance and risk mitigation.
    Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to compliance.

    Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, including the creation of satellite laboratory testing capabilities design to reduce the overall cost and time for the certification of new products.

    Manage complaints and technical issues relating to product design and manufacturing.
    Stay up to date with changes in electrical standards and regulations.
    Advise management on compliance-related matters.
    Prepare and present reports on the organization's electrical compliance status.

    Job Requirements


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or a related field), or Master Electrician.
    Minimum of five (5) years of industrial experience in electrical compliance or a related field.
    Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks; strong understanding of relevant electrical standards and regulations.
    Knowledge of UL standards, with focus on UL1008, UL508, UL1691, UL489, UL924, UL1741, UL9540, and others.
    Understanding of code differences from NFPA 70, 101, 99, and others.
    Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures.
    3 years of experience with product testing and process analysis.

    Ability to establish scope of work, coordinate work, and interpret results from UL, ETL, and/or other nationally recognized testing laboratories (NRTLs).

    Create documentation and support mechanisms to enable self-servicing of information by product design engineers and to support formal change order processes, including without limitation checklists and guidelines enabling compliance with local, national, and international compliance requirements.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Establish qualification and pre-certification test plans to ensure first pass success at the NRTL.

    Travel:
    Up to 20% travel within the USA, as driven by business needs.


    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to communicate with test engineers at high-power labs, NRTLs, and product design engineers to explain, to team-members, why a particular configuration will not work, and subsequently provide options enabling the sought certification without compromising the intended functionality.

    Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Ability to manage uncertainty and competing priorities in a fast-paced technology development environment; solid technical knowledge and understanding of product/process design.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and other relevant software.
    Skilled in business operations or project management.
    Experience in a research and new product development environment.
    Certification as a compliance professional is a plus.
