    Overview of Position:


    Dynamic positioning (DP) is a system that automatically maintains a vessel's position and heading by using its own propellers and thrusters.

    This allows operations at sea, where mooring and anchoring is not possible or desirable, and is a key technology enabling the transition to offshore wind energy.

    Our systems enable offshore wind farms and maritime.

    Our project engineers focus on Dynamic Positioning (DP) software deliveries and you will have a chance to explore both software tasks in the office and traveling in vessels worldwide.

    Responsibilities:
    Extensive world-wide travel is required (South-East Asia, Oceania, and possibly other parts of the world). To be a mentor and serve as a role model for the other engineers in the department. Coordinate and follow up with vendors and sub-contractors on the progress of project development. A team player who can work in a team and together with other project participants at various sites. Liaison between customers and the main office on all aspects of pre-commissioning/commissioning, maintenance, and operation of systems.

    Maintain open communication with various expertise from Head office and continuously finding ways to improve, innovate and effectively manage products and projects.

    Dynamic positioning Software commissioning on board vessels. Participate in installation and commissioning including CAT (Customer Acceptance Test). Dynamic positioning Software engineering in the office. Prepare for and participate in IAT (Internal Acceptance Test) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test). Production of project documentation, i.e. design documents and procedures. Participate in meetings, internal and external. Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time-to-time.


    Requirements:
    Engineer (B.Sc./B.Eng., M.Sc./M.Eng.) in Cybernetics, Control Engineering, Marine, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, etc. Good written and communication skills in English. Some knowledge of C/C++ programming.

    Self-driven and capable of motivating team members; Able to work independently under extremely stressful environments; Gain an overview of complex systems.

    Have a practical, hands-on approach to complex tasks. Think clearly in a hectic, demanding international environment. Focus on fulfilling customer needs and expectations. Be independent and able to think outside the box. Be quality-minded. Be positive, robust, tolerant, and have a cooperative personality. Represent the Kongsberg visions and values.
