- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to conduct department operations to meet requirements.
- Plans production operations in accordance with approved production schedules, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Develops or revises work instructions (?) and observes workers to ensure compliance with ISO standards. Coaching to compliance.
- Reviews staffing requirements and makes recommendations to Production Manager. Coaches' poor performers to bring up skill and behavior adjustments for success.
- Leads in the recruitment, selection, and hiring of direct production personnel in coordination with the Human Resource representative.
- Ensures the proper safety and job-related orientation training i.e. forklift, is conducted for new and reassigned employees. Monitor on-going training needed and coordinate with others in the organization to improve skills.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure safe and effective operational performance and optimum utilization. Schedules Line Operator PMs for best equipment operation. Works with Production Manager to schedule downtime for PMs.
- Ensures compliance with all safety rules and requirements.
- Coaches, directs and assures good safe habits, good housekeeping and workplace organization are established and maintained.
- Resolves worker disputes or submits unsettled disputes to Production Manager for direction. Human Resources maybe ask to support depending on dispute.
- Ensures proper control, accounting, and preservation of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory.
- Ensures production meets all quality customer specifications.
- Reviews production data to ensure inventory accuracy and conformance to standards and initiates action to reduce unfavorable variances.
- Responsible to lead teams and communicate information they need to perform their job well. Responsible to communicate business information provided to share with shift. Responsible to coach and lead to improve overall behavior and technical skills.
- Able to develop other communications as needed. Example: Visual Aides, Shift communications, etc.
- Ensure proper training is coordinated so skills are continually developed and or qualifications/certifications are maintained. Responsible to monitor shift/team development and recommend promotions and or new assignments to retain and grow skills within the shift.
- Responsible for data integrity by submitting timely paperwork to Human Resources for any status changes. Maintain accurate department records.
- Responsible to submit and discuss new ideas for continuous improvement. Responsible to promote and facilitate employee's submission of ideas for safety opportunities and all improvements.
- Responsible to coach and develop skilled shift employees that are good team players.
- Responsible to work with key production staff to ensure preventative line and equipment preventative maintenance is scheduled.
- Strong basic computer skills in the areas but not limited to; Time & Attendance, HRIS/UKG, MicroSoft Excel with basic formulas, Word, Outlook Scheduling, etc.

Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Directly supervises 20 to 30 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; coaching; deliver communication to shift/employees; along with corrective action; addressing complaints; resolving problems; any needed disciplinary action.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
2 Year Technical degree in mechanics highly desired.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years related demonstrated mechanical manufacturing supervision experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, emails, work instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
