- Assist the Director in the day-to-day operations and administration of Dining Services at Culver-Stockton College.
- Work with the Director in the training, hiring, and managing a large staff of both full-time and student employees, which include the planning, assigning, and directing of work and appraising performance, discipline and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Coordinates employee scheduling and personnel utilization ensuring budgetary goals are met.
- Supervise evening dining staff, including servers, cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure efficient and effective operation of dining facilities.
- Oversee meal preparation, ensuring that all food is prepared according to established recipes and food safety standards.
- Manage inventory and ordering of food and supplies to maintain adequate stock levels and minimize waste.
- Monitor dining facilities to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor staff to uphold high standards of customer service and professionalism.
- Collaborate with other members of the dining services team to develop menus, plan special events, and implement new initiatives.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by customers or staff in a timely and professional manner.
- An associate's degree in food or culinary management, hotel, restaurant, institutional and/or hospitality management or related field; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years minimum of experience working in a commercial or institutional food service establishment to include: cooking, food safety practices and demonstrated leadership and dynamic team building skills. Banquet and catering experience preferred.
- Current certification in ServeSafe (HACCP) or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- PC skills including, but not limited to, word processing and spreadsheets, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Internet and e-mail.
