    Description

    Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor at American Addiction Centers

    Overview: American Addiction Centers (AAC) is a company dedicated to providing quality care to adults dealing with addiction and mental health disorders. Join us in our mission to empower patients and their families towards recovery and wellness.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide substance abuse counseling and assessments
    • Deliver individual, group, and family counseling
    • Facilitate therapeutic groups and family counseling sessions
    • Participate in treatment team meetings and ensure proper documentation
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and maintain patient confidentiality
    • Monitor and manage patient community during crisis situations

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Sciences required
    • Certified alcohol and drug counseling required
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in behavioral healthcare
    • Experience in substance abuse, mental health, and related treatments
    • Proficiency in electronic health record software and ASAM criteria
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Flexibility in work hours and valid driver's license

    Physical Requirements:

    Prolonged sitting at a desk, ability to lift 15 pounds

    Certifications and Licenses:

    IC&RC certification in substance use counseling
