Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Team Leader, and/or radiologist(s), performs a variety of high quality diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures as well as PET/CT procedures.
Must be able to function independently and as part of a medical imaging team, and be available for emergency on-call duties as related to Nuclear Medicine.
This position requires proficiency in compounding radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals in accordance with USP 825 regulations, on site in the Nuclear Medicine Department.
Education:
Required:
A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program with active ARRT(N)
Reference:
https\ (compliant with all continuing education mandates).
And/or A graduate of an accredited school for Nuclear Medicine Technology with an active CNMT license.
Preferred:
ARRT(CT)
NMTCB (PET)
Experience:
Required:
Medical and/or hospital clinical experience required
Basic computer experience required (1-2 years� work experience or college level classes)
Prior experience in Nuclear medicine or an intensive on-the-job training session in Nuclear Medicine required before taking call
Preferred:
Prior hospital and/or physician office background
One or more years� experience as a Nuclear Medicine technologist
Preferred:
Experience with Siemens PET/CT equipment highly preferred
Hospital clinical experience
3-5 years PET/CT clinical experience
Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
Required:
ARRT (N) Certified and registered (compliant with all continuing education mandates) and/or
CNMT certified and registered (compliant with all continuing education mandates)
BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward
Preferred:
NMTCB PET certification
ARRT CT certification
ACLS
Department Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Team Leader, and/or radiologist(s), performs high quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Performs all Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures and assists with specialized tasks. Performs quality control on all Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT equipment.
This position requires proficiency in compounding radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals in accordance with USP 825 regulations, on site in the Nuclear Medicine Department.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Department.
The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient�s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient�s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit�s policies and procedures.
