As an Electrical Service Specialist, you will:
- Lead basic to complex installation and checkout of electric and electronic components for systems and service installed jobs and service agreements. Tasks include maintenance and testing of switchgear/switchboard, motor controls, circuit breakers, panel boards, transformers, and surge protection devices. Vibration analysis, metering, battery maintenance, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relay maintenance are key responsibilities.
- Install wiring, connect to the power source, troubleshoot power distribution products and third-party equipment during emergencies, and perform complex service upgrades, reconditioning, and retrofits for low-voltage power distribution products and systems.
- Provide technical and operational support on-site for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining complex equipment and systems. Conduct intricate site surveys for base or installation design plans.
- Instruct customers on proper operation and routine inspections, train them on complex equipment maintenance and adjustments, offer expert advice and technical assistance to support staff, and manage job reports effectively. Maintain tools, test equipment, and calibration items.
- Plan labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, and transportation expenses for proposals, review task plans, drawings, and installation schematics throughout project duration. Be available for emergency and relief assignments.
You will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic qualifications:
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED.
- 8 or more years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits, with the ability to obtain thermography certification.
- 8 or more years of experience in electrical testing on medium and low-voltage electrical systems, including primary current injection testing, resistance testing, dielectric testing, and thermal scans.
- Proficiency in interpreting protective coordination studies, testing and configuring protective relays, reading electrical blueprints, power system study reports, and experience with low and medium voltage power distributions systems.
- Familiarity with arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV, Siemens GIS, AIS, WL, RL, SB breakers, switchgear, ANSI, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA codes and standards.
- Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, and authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- 18 years of age, possess a valid driver's license with limited violations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate Degree.
- AVO, NETA, and NICET certifications.
