- Union Experience required.
- Travel between two locations (25 miles apart).
- Functions as the primary daily point of contact on all HR, pay and benefit matters involving plant employees. Responds to basic employee questions verbally and via e-mail and requests in a timely manner or escalates as needed.
- HRIS data management (reporting, address updates, processing new hires and terminations, etc.)
- Compiling data for payroll bi-weekly.
- Prepares and/or maintains employment related records for hiring, termination, leaves of absences, transfers, promotions, discipline, pay actions.
- Works with supervisors to monitors PTO, attendance, FMLA, sick days and maintains sick day log.
- Support resolution of the payroll issues for union and non-union.
- Complete employment verifications.
- Schedules drug tests.
- With supervision, provides support on recruitment and training.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Ensure all new hires, including transfers, are onboarded appropriately so the transition is as smooth and effective as possible.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents. Other clerical duties to support plant leadership.
- Assists with new employee background checks.
- Researches data per employee/GM/VP HR/HRM requests.
- Provides support with plant events planning, townhalls, etc.
- Scan employee files and other documentation for electronic record keeping.
- Posting electronic board announcements, distributing newsletters, plant updates.
- Maintains site data in HR SharePoint.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field from accredited college.
- At least 2 years of job-related experience including but not limited to record-keeping, HRIS data entry and management, payroll review, customer service, handling confidential information.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Experience with HRIS and time-keeping systems. UKG, Kronos are a plus.
- HR certification desirable, but not required.
- Working knowledge of FMLA, STD, LTD, Title VII, Worker's Compensation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Organized and customer service-oriented team player with strong work ethics who is motivated to succeed in the job
- Strong knowledge of office procedures, practices and technology
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
