Wisenbaker Builder Services is one of the largest flooring, cabinet, countertop, and window covering manufacturing and installation companies in the nation. We currently service the following Texas housing markets: Houston, Dallas-Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio. We have offices in Asia to support our global sourcing activities in addition to stone production operations in Brazil. Our focus is on the residential home building industry to which we bring a full complement of products and programs. In addition, we provide support to the building industry through our company-owned and operated Design Studios.
**Job Purpose**
Under the direction of Plant Manager, the Safety Manager will be responsible for providing Direction and Support in Federal and State Regulatory matters to the area Managers, Supervisors, and Safety Committee members. This position will provide guidance and coordination of day-to-day safety requirements.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
Implements and maintains all written programs, completing and documenting hazard surveys, training, testing, inspection logs, certifications, calibrations, scheduling of reoccurring events, speciation of PPE and labeling, and annual effectiveness reviews.
Responsible for the development of all written programs for all applicable OSHA standards.
Maintains all records and documentation related to Safety Program
Maintains OSHA 300, 301 and 301A logs
Conducts accident investigations to determine Root Cause and Corrective Actions
Trains all levels of the organization in their roles and duties regarding the safety program
Completes and maintains JSAs of all equipment and processes
Implements and maintains behavioral safety audit program
Makes engineering recommendations on hazard reduction and elimination such as guarding, ventilation etcetera
Implements and maintains First Aid program and supplies
Documents and posts required measurements such as issued compliance letters, Incident Rate and days worked since lost time incident.
Maintain a visible presence in the Production environment while ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations
Mentoring of area Managers on OSHA requirements and company safety practices
Participate in Facility Safety Audits and Corrective Action (Root Cause) follow up with area Managers
Ensure that all accidents are reported and addressed immediately
Administer New Employee Orientation on company safety policies and procedures prior to starting work
Provide direction and support to the Safety Committee members
Regular review of all applicable legislative standards to ensure compliance
Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications & Required Skills**
Qualifications include:
3-5 Years of Safety Program Management in an industrial setting preferably in Stone Granite fabrication facility
10- and 30-hour OSHA training certificate
Bachelors Degree in related field of science or equivalent experience
The ability to demonstrate the application of Root Cause Analysis
The ability to demonstrate the application of Risk Assessments / Job Hazard Analysis
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Public Presentation and training Skills
MS Office
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
**Working Conditions**
Working indoors or outdoors in seasonably hot or cold temperatures. Activities involve being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, noise levels that can exceed 85 dBa.
**Physical Requirements**
Requires standing for prolonged periods and walking throughout the facility.
