    Organizational Overview

    Leadership Roundtable is a responsive and innovative partner to
    Catholic leaders in the areas of management and leadership
    development. We provide custom support to implement comprehensive
    managerial best practices, while also supporting the development of
    current and future leaders. We do this so that the Church and
    Catholic entities can more effectively serve and amplify their
    mission.

    Leadership Roundtable Mission

    In partnership with lay, ordained, and religious leaders and
    organizations across all sectors of the Catholic community in the
    United States and Rome, Leadership Roundtable seeks to elevate and
    implement best practices in management and leadership to establish
    a culture of co-responsible, servant leadership for a healthy,
    thriving Church in the U.S.

    Position Overview

    The Director of Development will be responsible for all
    organizational development activities to advance the mission of
    Leadership Roundtable. He/she will work closely with and report to
    Leadership Roundtable's Managing Partner, in his/her role as
    director of development, to set, report on, and refine development
    strategy; participate in, and support as, needed Leadership
    Engagement and External Communications Committee meetings;
    cultivate and strengthen relationships with current and potential
    Leadership Roundtable donors; create development presentations, and
    all other major solicitations including occasional marketing and
    communications material; manage Leadership Roundtable's grant
    writing process and its Development team; and oversee the
    organization's use of Raiser's Edge. This position also works
    collaboratively with the Communications team.

    The Director of Development will have a clear focus on, and
    passion for, finding and building relationships and cultivating and
    securing gifts, grants, and event sponsorships. He/she is a
    results-oriented individual motivated by the growth of Leadership
    Roundtable's donor base and the financial sustainability of its
    work.

    This individual must be motivated to grow the donor base and
    exceed fundraising targets in order to advance Leadership
    Roundtable's mission. This individual must be comfortable meeting
    with and gaining the financial support of diverse, highly
    accomplished, and affluent individuals. We seek a self-starter and
    experienced leader who will bring direction, drive, and creativity
    to the role.

    This position is full-time and remote.

    Key Responsibilities

    Development, Stewardship, and Finance
    Collaborates to create an annual
    development plan and budget in alignment with strategic
    priorities.
    Collaborates with the Executive
    Partners to coordinate baseline annual fundraising targets with
    organizational strategic objectives and budget; provides regular
    updates.
    Manages a portfolio of donors and
    prospective major donors by leading in cultivation, solicitation,
    and stewardship; maintains current documentation of activity.
    Solicits a measurable number of major
    gifts annually—in collaboration with Executive Partners as
    necessary—while growing a pipeline of new opportunities to support
    future major gift solicitations.
    Develops and strengthens
    relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations.
    Develops and manages a planned giving
    program.
    Provide timely notice to the Finance
    Manager of impending gift requests to ensure a clear path of
    accounting and procedures.
    Manages the preparation of
    written and verbal proposals, concept and informational materials,
    endowment and planned giving agreements, and other materials needed
    to secure major gifts in collaboration with colleagues, as
    appropriate.
    Represents organization publicly as
    needed, to strategically grow a community of stakeholders, working
    with other staff to coordinate strategic meetings and small-scale
    events as needed.

    Communications
    Responsible for the creation of
    donor-related materials including print and electronic appeals,
    stewardship communication, and meeting packets. Coordinates with
    Communications' staff in design, production, and distribution.
    Coordinates and/or assists with
    publicity and marketing of all agency's special events related to
    development.
    Supports in the development and
    production of Leadership Roundtable documents, including, but not
    limited to, annual impact report, Summit report, Summit sponsorship
    packet, webpages, press releases and brochures, among others.
    Strong verbal and written skills

    Grant Writing and Reporting
    Responsible for grant prospecting,
    proposals to new funders, relationships with foundations and
    reporting process for current funders.

    Data Monitoring
    Oversees all data entry and
    management of donor database and gift processing.
    Oversees research funding sources and
    trends, with foresight, to help position ahead of major funding
    changes or trends.

    Management
    Coaches, supervises, and evaluates
    and leads development staff.

    Events
    Plans and implements regional events
    for major donors and prospective donors.
    Serves as a key strategist and
    coordinator of Monan Medal gala and Summit Sponsorship for yearly
    Catholic Partnership Summit.

    Leadership Team and Board
    Meets regularly with Board members to
    cultivate and solicit for major gifts for organization work and to
    grow our network of new investors.
    Helps coordinate meetings and reports
    for the board Leadership Engagement and External Communications
    Committee; works closely with the Chair.

    Requirements

    Successful Candidates Must Have/Be:
    8-10 years of relevant experience
    minimum.
    Personal track record of success in
    reaching and exceeding fundraising goals.
    Unimpeachable integrity,
    trustworthiness and discretion including compliance with the
    Standards for Excellence, as well as a commitment to the
    Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethics and Donor
    Bill of Rights with particular regard to donor confidentiality and
    privacy.
    Proven ability to establish
    objectives, set performance standards, and organize and motivate a
    team to achieve goals.
    Experience hiring, mentoring, and
    retaining staff.
    Demonstrated project management,
    organization, delegation, and prioritization skills.
    Experience motivating and
    collaborating successfully with board volunteers.
    Exceptionally strong communication
    skills, both oral and written.
    Conveys complex ideas through brief,
    simple materials.
    Experience utilizing, managing, and
    maintaining donor databases. Familiarity with Raiser's Edge
    is required.
    Available during Eastern Standard
    Time business hours.
    Willingness to travel and work
    evenings/weekends, when necessary.
    Commitment to Leadership Roundtable's
    mission and values.
    Strong familiarity with and knowledge
    of teachings, hierarchy, and functional structure of the Catholic
    Church.
    Proficient with Google suite of
    products: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive.

    Qualities and Experience Preferred:
    Experience fundraising for Catholic
    institutions.
