    NOVA Engineering and Environmental, a well-established firm in the construction and engineering industry, is actively seeking a motivated Roofing and Building Enclosure Consultant for operations based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a technical background in building construction.

    This role involves field testing, forensic evaluations, quality assurance inspections, and report writing in accordance with industry standards.


    Primary Duties:


    Conduct field testing of roofing, waterproofing, window, curtainwall systems, and other building components on new and existing facilities, following ASTM, AAMA, TAS, and ANSI standards.

    Perform forensic evaluations and investigations on building enclosure and roof components experiencing performance issues.
    Conduct quality assurance site inspections to verify conformance with construction documents, manufacturer specifications, and industry standards.
    Review construction documents, including architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals related to building enclosure.
    Write detailed technical reports documenting testing procedures and observations.
    Some in-state overnight travel is required, with occasional out-of-state overnight travel. The position is predominantly field-based.


    Essential Functions:


    Provide quality control testing and inspection for commercial, retail, educational, low to high-rise, and manufacturing structures in Charlotte, NC.5+ years of hands-on experience in a similar role as a Roofing and Building Enclosure Consultant.

    Technical expertise in building construction with a focus on roofing and building enclosure components.
    Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, as report writing is a key aspect of the position.
    Effective communication skills, both oral and written, for clear and concise interactions with team members and clients.
    Excellent organizational and time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks and projects.
    Valid State Driver's license with a clean driving record.
