Youth Ministry Director

STATUS:

Regular- Full-Time, Non-Exempt

PAY:

$18.00/hour

General Statement:

The Youth Ministry Director oversees the outreach and spiritual guidance provided to young individuals at the Corps. This role requires a person of strong Christian values, mental and physical resilience, and the ability to build trust within a growing congregation. It is essential to embody The Salvation Army's principles in all interactions and activities. Experience with various Salvation Army initiatives and a good understanding of related policies is necessary. This individual must be capable of making independent decisions, including managing staff and volunteers, with occasional supervision from the Corps Officer(s).

Essential Functions:

• Assist with Corps programs such as Sunday School classes, worship services, outreach activities, and social services
• Support Divisional and Territorial programs
• Ensure effective implementation of youth programs promoting personal growth and biblical values
• Engage with social services, youth, and adult programs, focusing on building strong relationships with families
• Recruit, train, and coordinate leaders and volunteers for youth programs
• Manage transportation needs and promote youth involvement in ministry and outreach

Administration:

• Collect statistics and assist with data entry
• Ensure proper handling of finances and processing of invoices
• Assist with audio/video equipment and production of promotional materials

Vehicles and Property:

• Help maintain cleanliness of the Corps building and vehicles
• Support Corps Officers with special projects

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent, College Degree in Ministry field preferred
• 1-2 years of youth work experience
• Pass a background check and child safety training
• Valid Driver's License and minimum age of 21
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License within 90 days
• Knowledge of Salvation Army programs and ability to lead youth activities
• Detail-oriented, team player, and strong communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform various physical tasks and lift up to 25 lbs
• Operate standard office equipment
• Understand and produce written information
